Go Fish is a fishing enhancement mod for Fabric. It takes inspiration from Stardew Valley and Terraria to create a rewarding fishing experience with exciting new loot, creative aquatic creatures, and an incentive to enjoy fishing.
This is a wiki with all of the info you might need about the fishing mod in KiloCraft called Go Fish. KiloCraft modified some of the loot tables and functions of the original mod, so the information found here is the most accurate.
(Obviously, spoilers ahead! Content is subject to change via community input)
How it works
This mod is designed to integrate into Minecraft without you having to change how you play, but adding options to your fishing and making it more rewarding without significantly unbalancing the game. (For Draylar’s Design Philosophy statements, go to their link above!)
You don’t need to craft anything if you don’t want to – just start fishing! However, if you’re looking for a boost to the rate of fish biting, you’ll want the Lure Enchantment (which is vanilla), but you can also craft a lure that will basically increase the Lure Enchantment level by 1, or give it to you for free if you don’t have an enchanted rod. The crafted Lure item doesn’t interact with the rod, however – just keep it in your bag, and it’ll do the rest.
As you fish, you’ll catch fish pretty much the same way you always have. However, you’ll have a chance, based on where you are, to ‘catch’ a crate instead of a fish! There’s multiple kinds of crates with varying loot pools, and they’re only available from specific locations. If you catch a crate, you can keep it unopened in your inventory (stacks up to 8), or you can bust it open like a piñata!
To open a crate, hold it in your hands, Crouch and Right Click.
The Crates aren’t the only new thing of course. There’s new species of fish in almost every biome, and almost every plane! About 32 fish have been added, and they all do different things and show up in different places. Next, we’ll get into what we can expect and where:
Biomes
(This section’s info is almost unedited, taken directly from Draylar’s GitHub Wiki. Crates have been underlined. This list represents the things you can expect to catch based on different factors like location.)

FAQ
Q: How do I open my Crate?
A: Hold it in hand, shift and right-click.
Q: How do I attach my lure to my Rod? Does it have to be a GoFish Rod?
A: No, you can use a lure with any rod, and it doesn’t need to be attached. Leave it in your inventory for it to work.
Q: How do I catch fish in The End?
A: You need to create an artificial lake (5x4x5) in the end. (Bring 3 buckets of water and make a 2×2 hole for your water supply, then dig and fill.)
Q: I’m having a hard time getting X to drop, am I doing something wrong?
A: Any rod should be able to catch any fish or crate, provided the right time, weather, location, etc. (watch for lava durability on rods though!) If you have good enchants and aren’t getting the drop you want, you’re probably just having bad luck. Double check this doc for your desired fish/crate’s specific requirements.
